Sarasota Homeschool Performing Arts

Some of our favorite memories are made on the stage...

Our Fall 2026 Musical will be
The Wizard of Oz!

New this 2026-2027 school year... we are giving the students a chance to lead! Kids won't be the only ones running the show, but they will get to step into real leadership roles with assigned opportunities.

Our Student Director decided to let fellow classmates vote on the show they will perform this Fall.

The Wizard of Oz - Youth Edition (safe for all ages)!

Elementary Musical Theatre

(ages 6-11)

This course is designed for your littlest actors to get taste of what it is like to perform on stage. Our elementary school students will learn techniques in acting, singing, and dancing throughout the semester. At the end of the semester some of what they learned will be performed alongside our MS/HS actors in our musical production.

MS/HS Musical Theatre

(ages 12+)

All Middle and High school students are welcome to join regardless of experience. This class is an inclusive and uplifting environment for all homeschoolers to come together and perform on stage. Our goal is the cultivate our students talents so they can gain skills and confidence each semester.

MS/HS Technical Theatre

(ages 12+)

Does your homeschooler want to try theatre without being on stage? In this course students will learn what happens behind the scenes of a show. Students will explore topics such as set design, stage management, sound, lighting, makeup, costume design, and more. They will become part of the production team and work alongside our stage actors to make our shows come to life.

Meet Our Directors

Our talented team brings many years of personal and professional experience both on stage and behind

the scenes.

Florida natives, Mr. Chris and Mrs. Nikki attended FSU and earned degrees in Religion while doing pre-med coursework, because faith matters for everything.

At SHPA and in life, we honor our Heavenly Father (Yahuah) in all that we do. HalleluYah!

As a homeschooling family of 6, we’re passionate about creating a positive, encouraging environment where every student can build confidence and develop skills to help them thrive as adults!

We need community

We all need to feel seen, loved, and welcome. This is especially crucial for children, but you know who else? PARENTS!

Two moms came together in 2024 to launch this co-op in North Port and Sarasota to help their children thrive in the arena they love...

Theatre is different. Theatre kids are different.

We created a faith-based program that is safe for all ages.

We don't have inappropriate themes or topics... just pure fun!

While one of the moms moved north, Nikki is still proudly serving local students in Venice.

Sarasota Homeschool Performing Arts (SHPA) is a youth ministry and homeschool cooperative with a focus on the arts.

Our goal is to help homeschool students learn to grow in the talents they were blessed with in an inclusive and uplifting environment.

We want our students to learn to shine His light on and off the stage!
